The skeleton series started with contemplation of the way we sometimes get clouded by our differences and forget our unifying factors. These hugs are an extension of that and one way of reaching out from one set of bones to another. Whatever our differences may be, here's a hug for you.
The cups are porcelain and wheel-thrown, decorated with underglazes, and covered with a mid-range satin glaze. They are roughly 3"h x 3 3/4" w (at the hip) and hold approximately 8 ounces of liquid.
The earrings are hand-cut slabs of porcelain, hand-decorated with underglazes, and covered with a mid-range satin glaze. They are roughly 1-2"h x 0.5-1"w x 1/16-1/8"d and weigh 2-5g (the weight of a penny and a nickel respectively) each. The ear wires are sterling silver.
